— 12/20/2006 — Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced continued growth in the $900M Application Delivery Controller (ADC) market according to a December 2006 report from Gartner titled, “Market Share: Application Acceleration Equipment, Worldwide, 3Q06”1. From Q206 to Q306 the Citrix® NetScaler® web application delivery product line posted market share gains in both the overall Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) Market Share segment and the Advanced Platform Application Delivery Controllers (AP-ADC) Market Share sub-segment2. According to Gartner estimates, Citrix Systems was one of only two market leaders to show an increase in worldwide market share and manufacturer revenue in the $140M AP-ADC sub-segment, an area which Gartner believes will show “long- term growth at the high end.”3

Unified Threat Management (UTM) Appliances in Education: The Internet has increased students’ exposure to many valuable and useful sources of information; unfortunately, however, it has also made it easy to access inappropriate or illegal content and to utilize school and campus networks for non-educational pursuits. Key issues include:

  • Access to inappropriate content and exposure to potential liability
  • Intrusions into academic record and exam data-stores
  • Utilization of school and campus networks for illegal content sharing
  • Propagation of viruses, worms and other content-based threats
  • Reduction in performance of key academic applications due to use of campus networks for bandwidth-hungry applications.Implementation of a multi-threat appliance can significantly enhance your security posture while reducing staff administrative burdens. A single UTM appliance from Fortinet can offer:
  • Protection from viruses, worms and intrusions
  • Secure connectivity between remote locations and the network
  • Protection from inappropriate content and compliance with regulatory norms
  • Maximization of bandwidth and other network resources
  • Protection of administrative resources and students from hackers
  • Improved Total Cost of Ownership related issues such as ease of maintenance and updating, maximization of performance, and leveraging capital and expense budgets. To learn more contact us online. You can also access the Fortinet web-site through our partner page at www.lcmsecurity.com
